Cheers to a New Year!
“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Another revolution around the sun has been completed and it's back to work tomorrow. In the short month and half at our new location, we've had no regrets with the move and a lot of you have show up for it. For that, we are eternally grateful. We are so excited for the new year and new possibilities as we continue to work and grow this little printing and framing shop. Here's to going into the new year ready for whatever it has to throw at us!
In honor of all of the snow the East Coast has been getting this winter, we felt it only be appropriate for our artist spotlight to be James Niehues. A legend in the art of ski mountains and their terrain maps. If you've ever been skiing and looked at the trail map, there is a good chance it was painted by him.
James is a landscape artist and cartographer best know for his 255 painted maps for 175 ski resorts around the world. His preferred medium is watercolor with airbrushing.

Steadily Filling Up Our Retail Selection
Last month we added the Hanger Frames to our shelves. Next on our list is to get a variety of some ready made 8x10 frames. We have had a few customers looking for something quick and easy for a gift. With Valentine's Day coming up before we know it, we want to be ready to help those couples out who are looking to have a nice framed photo of themselves with their better half.
Once they're in stock we'll let everyone know through our social platforms! Keep your eyes peeled for the updates as they roll out.

Enjoy A Hot Coffee With Us On Fridays
Ok, well we've always offered coffee or tea to anyone coming in, especially if you're going to be with us for a while picking out frames or having a consultation. The biggest difference now is that we have expanded our hours on Fridays to stay open later, from 10am-7pm.
We hope to offer more flexibility for our customers to come in, specifically all the 9-5ers out there. We don't blame you if you don't want to spend your Saturdays with us, just because that's the only time you could make work. We feel these Free coffee Fridays are a great reason to stop in and chat with us if you're a new or emerging artist looking for guidance.
Whether you're stopping in in the morning or after work Friday evening, we'll save you a mug!

Stepping Up Our Framing Game
Recently, we started working alongside a passionate fellow framer, Stephanie Motyka. Steph has bestowed us a proper introduction to framing unique 3-D objects, including sports jerseys. Her general professionalism, thoughtful care with sentimental items and attention to technical framing details has made her the perfect freelance addition to our team at Giclée. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Steph, to learn more about the art of framing, and to help support a freelance framer!

An art prompt is a great way to break free from a creative block. Prompts can often be a single word, lighting a spark for other creative ideas. In every monthly newsletter, we'll include a fresh calendar full of daily art prompts for our creative subscribers who could use a nudge of inspiration. We'd love to see what you come up with, so make sure to tag us on the socials if you share your art!
